Call Mercy Tattoo at 801-355-9191 for all scheduling and anything time sensitive.

Subject

I specialize in western “traditional” and Japanese tattooing. I prefer to use classic tattoo subjects inspired by historic tattoo imagery. Western images are rooted in vintage tattoo flash. Japanese tattoos have very deep roots which I try to honor by not deviating from their origins. Most images in Japanese tattooing are based on revered images and have great cultural context. Because many of these images are part of a narrative, I will not combine them with outside elements or anything that would be inaccurate to the mythology. I am happy to help anyone find a theme that they can relate to within these restrictions.

Large work

Because preparing for large projects takes so much of my personal time, I have a few guidelines I like all of my clients to understand:

I prefer to work on large scale work every two weeks; at minimum I require one appointment per month. Exceptions can be made for those traveling, but these clients should consider booking full days, or back to back days.

The first session is usually the longest, taking my time to focus on placement, stenciling and/or drawing on. The length of the following sessions can be determined by the client’s tolerance. I check on clients frequently during sessions and break whenever requested. The average shading session is 2-4 hours.

A non-refundable deposit is required to hold appointments, as each appointment amounts to about half of my work day. Deposit will be forfeited in the event that less than 48 hours notice is given for cancellation. Exceptions will be made for illness and emergencies. Deposits are applied to the final session. For current deposit amounts and hourly rates, call Mercy Tattoo at 801-355-9191.

My schedule can fill up months in advance, so I recommend making all of your appointments up front. With ample notice you can move them as needed. If I need to move any appointments you will be notified well in advance. When scheduling my own time off I avoid dates of clients who travel to get tattooed.

Be advised that large work can take a long time, hurt and cost a lot of money. Please do not book if you are not ready for the commitment.

I am honored to be able to put permanent images on skin and I take the responsibility very seriously. Tattooing is a fun job and I truly enjoy getting to know my clients; I just ask that my time is respected because I will always respect yours.
